Shy tropical notes accompanied by bright citrus aromas on the nose. Grapefruit and guava fill the palate and linger on the finish. The mouthfeel is rounded and textured.
Fairview is situated on the lower slopes of Mt. Paarl which is more sheltered from the moderating maritime influence than nearby Stellenbosch, and was planted with vines as early as 1699. The property was bought by the grandfather of current owner Charles Black in 1937.

He leads the field in matching varietals to specific sites - a surprisingly recent phenomenon in the country. The Fairview estate now has 585 hectares of vineyard over four appellations Paarl, Stellenbosch, Malmesbury and the Darling Hills.
