Edmeades is famous for its limited bottlings of iconic Zinfandel from the cool, coastal vineyards of Mendocino County. Dr. Edmeades planted his first 11 acres of vineyards in 1963. He founded his winery and launched his own brand in 1972. The  The wine has a lot of earthiness and dark brooding aromas that are not often found in Zinfandel. Deep raspberries, cassis and creamy oak embody an old-world funkiness of smoked meats, cedar box and forest. This is a powerhouse wine: concentrated and intense a dark, brooding beast of a wine with layers of funk. It should be reserved only for wild nights when the moon is full.
