Casa Ferreirinha, founded in 1952, is named after the legendary Porto matriarch Dona Antnia Ferreira. She was affectionately nicknamed 'Ferreirinha' by her countrymen, and Casa Ferreirinha, the first producer in the region dedicated to making light wines, pays homage to her memory. Purchased by Sogrape in 1987, it has 520 hectares of vineyard in all three of the Douro sub-regions: Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo and Douro Superior. The winemaking is headed up by Lus Sottomayor, who restrains the Douros natural exuberance to produce wines that have a vibrant freshness allied to a lovely depth and texture.

Lemon yellow in colour with golden tints. The wine is very aromatic with prominent floral notes, tropical fruit and herbaceous qualities. On the palate, it is well-structured with a subtle minerality and a long, persistent finish.
