The Zeni Zinfandels are almost always old-world style wines. The wine has a lot of earthiness and dark brooding aromas that are not often found in Zinfandel. Deep raspberries, cassis and creamy oak embody an old-world funkiness of smoked meats, cedar box and forest. This is a powerhouse wine: concentrated and intense — a dark, brooding beast of a wine with layers of funk. It should be reserved only for wild nights when the moon is full.
