This wine comes from a selection of the best Tempranillo grapes in the Rioja Alta and Alavesa. Long masceration have provided it with a stable and powerful tannic structure. It's long ageing in american oak allows it to age well in the bottle and ensure a fine long lasting wine. Medium ruby. Spicy cherry fruit on the nose with note of leather. Medium weight. GRAPE VARIETIES : Tempranillo 100% co­ming from vi­ne­yards with high sun exposure from the 3 su­bre­gions. AVERAGE YIELD : 45 Hl./Ha. VINIFICATION : Grapes are cooled down upon reception and then the must goes through a pre-fermentative maceration for 3 days. Long and slow Alcoholic fermentation continues at 25ºC with short skin maceration. AGEING : Aged for 12 months in American white oak barriques of 225 litres capacity, medium toasted and previously dried for two years. Then the wine has been aged in bottle for 1-3 months before reaching the market. TASTING NOTES : Red ruby colour, harmonic, well balanced and mature. Cherries, plums and strawberry in the nose, wrapped in subtle vanilla and fine wood.
