From 43 hectares of vineyard, Patrice Ricard and his team make an exciting Cru Bourgeois which is very definitely Cabernet Sauvignon dominated. Recent vintages have been deliciously supple with a juicy, grassy blackcurrant fruitiness and deep colours. The wine is aged in 30% new oak giving an attractive, spicy vanillin nose, adding to the already opulent character of the wine.

Cabernet-Sauvignon 60%, Merlot 30%, Cabernet-Franc 7% and Petit Verdot 3%

The Chevaliers d’Aux (descendants of the Comtes d’Armagnac) were the first owners of this Domaine in Bégadan in 1632. Seized as a state property after the French Revolution, this estate was then turned into a post house for carriages, then better known in the Médoc under the name « Patache ». In 1964, Claude Lapalu, whose family had been settled in Tunisia for several generations, came back to France and bought the Château Patache d'Aux.
